In 2009, the new English Standard Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Screening Protocol was full implemented in England. This report includes data collection and performance analysis against the new protocol and standards for initial clinical referral.

The Programme Centre would like to acknowledge the newborn screening laboratories, and CF physicians; due to their efforts data about confirmation of diagnosis and treatment commencement in the period 2008-09 is much more complete.
